Love me sailor: book about sailors and the life at sea. The critics in French newspapers were thrilled by this novel, whereas in Australia, it was banned for a time. Robert S. Close has described with superlative control the strange atmosphere of the three-master (in Le Berry Républicain). Assuredly a great piece - very strongly etched in the Hugo style (in Le Figaro Littéraire). Robert Close was an Australian author.
